Dress of the Week
This week's favourite in the boutique is this stunning wedding dress from Martina Liana Bridal and we are in total love with it. For the modern minimalist bride with a heart for classic design touches, look no further than this wedding dress from Martina Liana. A slightly fitted sheath silhouette of stretch crepe enwraps the figure in soft, clean elegance as the high, straight-across neckline reaches into full floating lace sleeves of large, flourishing blooms for an artful approach to tradition. Embroidered with fine beadwork throughout, these blooms echo throughout sheer back paneling along the sides and slightly elongating onto the hips for a defined yet organic shape..
Without doubt our favourite wedding dress of the week in the boutique!
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I start looking for my Wedding Dress?
We normally recommend about one year before your wedding date is ideal to begin looking at wedding dresses, this is for a number of reasons. Firstly- we always feel it's much easier to try wedding gowns and imagine your wedding day look coming together in the same season as you are getting married. Some wedding dress suppliers also require up to 8 months to make your wedding gown (though most of our suppliers are less) and we always like our bride's gowns to be with us 3 months prior to your wedding to allow plenty of time for an accessories appointment and very importantly, the time needed to have your dress fitted perfectly to you.
However, if you are on a tight timescale, please do still come and see us as many of our suppliers do have rush order options and we also have sample dresses which can be bought off-the-peg and adjusted to fit you to perfection!
What is the price range of your dresses?
Our dresses start from just over €1200 up to €2700 ensuring a beautiful choice of bridal gowns for every bride. The majority of our gowns range between €1500 and €2000.
What size are your sample dresses?
Most of our sample dresses are in 12 and 14 however we stock gowns from size 8 up to size 20. Our corset-backed size 14 dresses can comfortably fit up to a size 16-18 and we will be launching a new exclusive plus size capsule collection of wedding dresses from both Essense and Stella York 2017 in sizes 18-22. These will be available in store from January 2016.
Do you offer alterations?
We are delighted to have our own very talented seamstress Brid, who has her own studio located next door to us. You can relax knowing your dress will fit you perfectly after visiting Brid. Usually we begin alterations to your wedding dress about 6-8 weeks before your wedding.
Wedding Dress Shopping Tips
Bring along Pictures
It's always a good idea to bring along any pictures of dresses you like or bridal looks that appeal to you. This will help give us a sense of your style and how you would like to look on the day which in turns helps us pick out and suggest better dresses for you! We're here to help so be sure to use us!
Bring your Nearest and Dearest
Organise your appointments to bring along your mum and/or one to two bridesmaids. Ensure you bring people whose opinions you know you can trust and who know you well and aren't afraid to be honest with you. Be careful to avoid bringing too many people with you. You need to be able to allow yourself to think and to follow your own instincts which is more difficult in a large group. Remember once you've found the gown you can bring others with you to future fittings, to help pick accessories etc.
Bring along any Items you Plan on Wearing
If you are hoping to borrow a sister's veil or a friend's stole, remember to bring these along with you so you can try these with your favourite gown on the day.
What to Wear
If you have underwear similar to what you plan on wearing on the day, it's always a good idea to wear to this. A strapless bra is also a good idea but with so many wedding dresses with amazing back detail at the moment, most come now with a built in bra.
And last but certainly not least...have fun!
Wedding Dress shopping is a wonderful experience- enjoy every moment of it and we look forward to seeing you soon!
