All eyes were on the royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on Saturday past, we were glued it here in the boutique and she definitely didn’t disappoint! We loved the simple, elegant style of her wedding dress.
The bateau neckline revealed her collar bones while keeping with the modest restrictions which must be upheld by royal brides. We knew it would require a sleeve as per royal guidelines along with having her shoulders covered but we liked the subtle hint of skin and shoulder this flattering neckline offered.
We love the simple fabric, it was a refreshing change from Kate’s style which of course we loved but wouldn’t it having been boring if they’d both worn long lace sleeves.
Given that the dress couldn’t be overly fitted, we weren’t surprised she opted for a ball gown style which was fitting with the occasion, a dress style certainly fit for a princess!
Her train was long but manageable, accentuated then with a lace detail long veil for extra drama. She wore a double tier veil which she wore over her face in keeping with tradition also.
The fabric hasn’t been confirmed yet but it looks like a duchess satin to us, a fabric which is not quite as shiny as satin and is softer than Mikado.
If you liked her simple and elegant style- here’s a little more inspiration!
