Get the Look: Poppy Delevingne
We love a celebrity wedding and the first detail on everyone's mind is always the wedding dress! 2014 was a brilliant year for celebrity weddings and the array of wedding dresses certainly didn't disapoint!
One our our personal favourites looks from 2014 (after the amazing Amal and 'that' lace wedding dress of course!) was that of Poppy Delevningne. Poppy married her boyfriend of seven years in May 2014 and given her role as a Chanel ambassador, it came as no surprise that the beauty walked down the in aisle in a stunning custom wedding dress by Chanel.
The dress was from a previous Chanel collection and Poppy had the gown updated for her by none other than Karl Lagerfield himself (jealous yet..us too!). The bridesmaids then, including her sister Cara Delevingne wore white bridesmaids dresses. (For more on white bridesmaids, you can pop over to our blog on white bridesmaids trends)
This dress was a simple silhouette with amazing floral applique, delciate beading throughout both the boice and undertskirt. And just when we thought this wedding gown couldn't possibly be any more fabulous....it turns into a short wedding dress for the evening!
When describing her ultimate wedding dress, the bride told Elle Australia in an interview that she 'originally wanted to go big' for her big day, but eventually settled on the more minimalistic design wedding dress.'Growing up, I was one of those little girls who always dreamt about her wedding day'.
We just love the relaxed and young feel of poppys wedding day look and we've put together some details below on how you can get the look without the Chanel pricetag!
The Elise Wedding Dress from La Sposa is striking similar to Poppy's complete with soft floral applique.
And the bottom also removes to reveal a shorter wedding dress the same as Poppy's gown! I just love the idea of changing this to a shorter dress for the dancing part of the of the evening, to wear the next day or even being able to wear it again on honeymoon!
Poppy just wore her hair down and loose with a plain edge single tier veil (you get the low down on choosing veils to match your wedding dress here)
Poppy's wedding shoes were a plain satin court- we would recommend our Lucy shoe which is a classic court and bliss fit- brides just love these wedding shoes when they try them on!
We loved Poppy's wedding day look! Do you? Would you go for a convertible dress?
